    Jenks carbine

Has anyone shot a Jenks mule-eared Naval carbine? Any pros or cons to be aware of?

I've not, but I'd sure like to. I came close to buying one last weekend at the show in Franklin, TN. Bought a Hall rifle instead. The Jenks is still on my list. My interest in Civil War guns lies in the unique mechanical aspects of them. Burnsides, Merrills, Halls, Jenks....they are all so much more interesting to me than a simple muzzle loader or break action. Jenks is near the top of the list.
