    Lip of Burnside brass

I've never had a particularly happy experience loading Burnside brass. Now several of the thin lips of my Burnside cases are mutilated in one way or another. Is there a downside to filing the lips off and loading and firing such rounds? Thanks.

Yes, there is a downside to removing the lip as it is part of the gas seal.
