    Nipple for Wurfflein Marked 1816/1855 Remingtom Maynard Conv.

    Need one of those stubby nipples for the Maynard breach. Size and source??

    Novelty Ordnance had to do a special one for me a couple years back. They took a cone with the extra long threads, and added a washer to "build" it taller for the cone strike.

    Check with Lodgewood and see what Dave says.

    Essentially I did the same thing. The nipple that came with the gun had carracteristics of a custom made - had sort of a lean to it and too close to the Maynard primer feed to fit a musket cap on. Installed one from the drawer with threads that fit but had to shorten it some to gain clearance for the cap. Google Remington Maynard conversions to see the variety of nipple arrangements that show up.
