You can usually get a Pedersoli brand new at Cabelas for $999.

The 1859 Sharps is not currently available on the Cabela's web site that I have been able to find.

I just called Cabela's and they said this item has been discontinued. I asked if they would get it again in the future and the lady said no as it has been discontinued.

I wish Pedersoli would step up their Cabela's game. I like buying firearms from Cabela's as they have good deals if you wait for them.

I'm sure one of the N-SSA vendors will jump on this.I'm sure one of the N-SSA vendors will jump on this.
And, indeed, they have for a long time:

    https://www.dixiegunworks.com/index/...litary+Carbine

But these smaller shops have usually charged a lot more than Cabela's or MidwayUSA does for the same thing.

The DGW Pedersoli 1859 Sharps Carbine above is currently selling, on sale, for $1200. Their regular price is said to be $1400.

    Taylor's sells it for $1347:

Now maybe Cabela's has just been selling these at a loss or were getting good discounts from the manufacturer or something and now that has gone away. Cabela's is selling the Pedersoli 3-band Enfield for $1150. Taylor's is selling it for $1137, but DGW is selling it on sale right now for $995!.

It may be that Cabela's days of being able to offer discount prices on Pedersoli products is coming to an end, and so they are discontinuing them. I don't know.

Cabella's was bought out by Bass Pro. I suspect a lot of the things I liked about Cabella's over Bass Pro will become a thing of the past. Last time I was in the Cabella's in Acworth, GA, their "Gun Library" had just about dried up. It used to have quite an assortment of really nice vintage arms. I don't tknow that Bass Pro ever dealt in used guns at all, and I suspect Cabella's is about to quit. The assortment of black powder arms Cabella's used to have, may be going the same route.

Got a near-instantaneous response from Pedersoli:

    Dear Mr. Sheldon,

Thank you for the preference you are giving to our guns.

Cabela's merged with Bass Pro Shops and we assume it is normal to have a settling period while both companies have to understand what is best to continue carrying of our program, or what to change.

Both companies are quite large realities and we suggest that you stay in touch with Cabela's, for the future offers they will issue.

    Best regards,

    Customer service

I went and checked Bass Pro Shops' web site, and sure enough, not a single Pedersoli product. They tend to sell Traditions black powder firearms from what I can tell, with one Thompson Center in the list.

If Bass Pro is pulling the purchasing strings at Cabela's now, there may be a dearth of black powder offerings at Cabela's, at least for a while.

I used to frequent Cabelas, and they would give me a military 10% discount in store or online, no questions asked for anything they carried. Once they merged with BP, the discount went to 5% and only for in-store purchases, and recently the discount has been removed from ammunition and reloading supplies. Complaining to management at my last visit got me... um.... a headache. They. Don't. Care.

It's tragic that Cabelas has been absorbed by Bass Pro. Bass Pro has become nothing but a touristy Tshirt and taffy shop. I live 30 minutes from the original Bass Pro and haven't been there in years. There was a time many years ago that Bass Pro was fairly decent quality and had some unusual items but those days are long gone. Just my 2 cents. Change is almost never good in any shape or form.
