    Jenks Navy carbine

Anyone fire one of these? What load did you use? The Ordinance Board in 1842 recommended 65 grains bp.

I had a Remington Jenks many years ago. It was worn out, burned out and unsafe to fire. I really liked the feel of the gun and thought about restoring it to firing condition but that was far too much work. Fine balance and pointability but it was light. I expect 65 grains would really rock your world and probably would max it out at 50.
