Hallo!
Interesting, it is not listed.
(I would assume it falls under the CW "as made/issued" criteria. (M1863 Army: 8 inches, Navy: 7 3/8"). To exclude so-called "Shop keepers" or "Sheriff's.")
Rule Experts will have to answer.

All the records I was able to see show all Remington 1858/ 1863 44 cal as having 8 inch barrels

the gun was bought from cabelas and has a 5 1/2" barrel. the other from Taylors has a 7 1/2" barrel. but again i dont see anything about the barrel length in our approved arms list. it just states Remington new model army. guess it needs a trip down the hill in a couple of weeks.

Very simply the 5 1/2" barrel version you have purchased is a fantasy arm, Therefore, it is not approvable for use in the N-SSA. None of the original Remington Army Model revolvers in .44 caliber were made in short barrel lengths.
You have to be careful with the Pietta and Uberti repros. Pietta, in particular, sells a range of fantasy arms that are not N-SSA approved.
