Our Region bought a new 5 lbs fire extinguisher last year. Expensive Above $200
they won’t refill older bottles around here. You have to machine a nozzle to fit out of nylon or some material

Steve,
You will need to purchase a carbon dioxide extinguisher, size is your choice. A 5 lb approx. $165-195, 10 lb $269-279.

Just pick up a 5 or 10 lb Co2 tank.
They are cheap to find used. You can swap out at about any welding store or have filled.
Also any beer brew store have them or can fill them. Local 7 days a week. Nice and easier than the weldingstores that hold 8 to 5 times m-f only and take forever to fill.
All you need is the fitting for the tank and hose then take a QD for a normal air compressor the mail one and drill out the inside to fit the nipple or get the standard grease fitting.
I use them all the time. Have on in the truck and another in the trailer. Both 5 lb and keep a 20 lb in the shop.
Regs are cheap and also used to fill tires, run air tools and the likes.
The fire ext are limited as to who can fill also not as high pressure and only used for one thing...
There a tanks for 30 to 50$ on Craigslist all the time.

This and a hose plus fitting. I bet total cost 75 or under and you can use for more than one thing.

Steve,
When purchasing a compressed cylinder make sure the hydrostatic date is current, it will be stamped on the top of the cylinder. This test must be performed every six years. If you have any other questions give me a call.
