Thank you for sharing the photo's of what appears to be an early Richmond Rifle Musket assembled from parts captured at Harper's Ferry. It would be a welcome addition to anyones collection!
Did any of it's history come with it?

No John, there's no verifiable history to it. I do think it may still have a load in it though. A rod stops right about where you would expect it to if it had powder and ball in the barrel.
Whether left in the rafters of a barn by a wounded rebel sharpshooter in 1863, or a boy hunting rabbits in 1893...dunno.

I assume that like all Richmonds, the barrel was "Browned" at the factory.
