I found two basket cases that auctioned online a few months back for under $250. They show up now an again. They go by like five different names so it's apt of searching.
The model with rear sight right behind the rear band has a screw through it into the barrel to hold it in place. It's not just pinched on there. I had one back in the 80's and was told I could t shoot it so dummy me sold it.

Neither model of the Saxon/Dresden Rifle Musket has the rear sight right behind the band.

What you are showing is not a Saxon/Dresden Rifle Musket, which is what we were talking about. Malherbe is a manufacturer, not a model.

I've looked here and there over the years but only found ones here being sold or auctioned that were "handed down from the war" or seen auctions overseas stating "Many of these went to America for the Civil War" but I doubt if they did someone would have called them 1855's and not Saxon or Dresden's like they lumped so many other types of arms together.
