Does the change to five person regional musket teams affect that. Seems like it should allow five people to form a team . Just curious

I'm referring to a new probationary team.

Probationary teams must have 8 members. Presumably this is because Probationary teams must come to a National Competition to compete and be inspected, and Musket and Carbine teams at the Nationals require 8 shooters.

I would expect this to be a high bar to be met in this day and age. I doubt many teams from the Deep South Region could muster 8 people to attend a National Competition today. Forrest's Escort might. Our team is lucky to have 5 members at a regional skirmish.

That is why I questioned it. Some of the outlying Regions are suffering for lack of members/ participation

That's because we live clean and are kind to old ladies.
Guys like you Steve need to make a splash at local gun ranges. You were great at the NRA convention, but that doesn't translate to much benefit for your local unit. Set up a display at local events with the N-SSA video playing. If you really want to set the hook, let them shoot the guns off to the side somewhere. You will get members. (By the way, local gun ranges will welcome you there). I built a big black powder shoot in Iowa around an Izaak Walton League.
