    Great video, keep it up!

These days, a prospective new member is going to be, more often than not, tech savy and digital media is a great way to get the word out.

You said a new shooter would have to have a "musket". Are you using that term collectively or do you mean I have to get a musket before I can shoot my carbine or the smoothbore I have on order?

Well, you're gonna go make me read the rules now.

As I understand it, the musket is the required arm for N-SSA competition. You can shoot other things after that. Although if you showed up with only a carbine, I doubt we'd turn you away around here. As long as you have a pulse, anyway.

Welp, I can't find anything in the rules that says you have to start with a musket. So, maybe I'm full of hooey on that one.

Edit: OK, where I had read this was in our own team regulations:

    http://4thla.weebly.com/regulations.html

    1) Weapon
Musket - The rifled-musket is the premier weapon the N-SSA and is mandatory equipment.
This may be a team-specific thing.

It is required that your unit compete in musket competition. The individual can compete in whatever matches his unit enters. There are folks who only shoot artillery or pistol for health reason where they can not shoulder a carbine or musket. And NO,,,,,,you don't have to have a doctors note saying you are unable to shoulder it. So Yakiman.....join in the fun and shoot those arms which make yer heart go pitter patter. Add others as you see fit.

The rules were changed a couple years ago and participation is no longer defined by the musket match.

To be specific: A team may participate in ANY team event to meet the requirement of having participated in a skirmish...

Thanks for the correction everybody! Makes me want to re-do the video now!

Still, it's great that people can get started in the N-SSA with only one gun.
