Recommendation to Tune Rogers & Spencer Revolver

I'm looking for a recommendation of someone who can tune an original R&S revolver, most importantly accurately size the chambers to the bore diameter.

Thank you you in advance and good luck at Nationals to those competing

    Brian

If you're wondering, I can vouch for Brian. He's on the Canadian Muzzle-Loading Team. Great guy to deal with.

Don't bother trying to recruit him, the McGregors have a prior claim. Unless the Canadians get an N-SSA team going... :-)

I too can vouch for Brian...

Thankfully the York Rangers claim was staked prior to the McGregors! 🙂

What are the dimensions of your chambers and what is the groove diameter of your revolver? I have an original Remington that has a chamber diam of .451 and a groove diam around .455. It actually shoots pretty good like that. I have thought about having the chambers opened up to better fit the groove diam but I cant seem to bring myself to have it done

The chambers measure generally .448 and the bore is .451-.452

My apologies, the grove diameter is .451-.452. I drove an oversized lead ball down the barrel and measured it using calipers.

Im not getting great accuracy from it compared to my reproduction R&S. The bore is in excellent shape as is the crown. I've decided I want to enlarge the chambers to be maybe .001 or .002 larger than the bore and have the throat cut (maybe 18 degrees?).

What im trying to find out is who people have used and would recommend to do this type of work.

    Thanks

    Brian
