Does Frank still have parts? Will S & S's work? A friend says his came apart at the pin. Can it be fixed by silver soldering? The pin was very tight and did come out with some effort. Thanks for your respones

I have a Shiloh Sharps and cannot say how well original and other repro parts may interchange on a Garrett Sharps. I can say that it is easier to extract the hinge pin if you first open the breech block which reduces the pressure on the pin from the lever spring.

Thanks for your info, I'm familiar with the Sharps and just looking for info on how to fix it or find someone else who has had to deal with this problem.

I'm going to go out on a limb here. Maybe try an original pin. I was told when I bought my Garrett that they are such a faithful repro of the originals that parts are interchangable. Fingers crossed that I'm not out in left field.

If you have both pieces, I can take a look at it to see how to repair.
