Thread: Ballistic program

  1. Ballistic program

Can anyone recommend a ballastic chart or, more likely, a ballistic program that can give me the exterior balilistics for the .58 caliber Minie and the .451 Whitworth out to 1,000 yards?

I need such things as wind deflection, bullet drop, time of flight, etc. I have the Lyman Black Powder Handbook (1970's edition), but it only goes to 300 yards and does not include the Whitworth.

    Thank you,

    John Gross

    Re: Ballistic program

Is this for research or shooting? Either way associated with the Long Range Muzzle Loader web site is a Yahoo!Groups discussion list with over 500 members. There's a lot of knowledge there on the subject of long range shooting.

Here in the UK we shoot match rifles such as the Whitworth out to 1200 yards but the furthest we shoot the Enfield (in competition at least) is 800 yards.
