FOR SALE is a solid M1842 .54 caliber pistol that has been professionally inspected by Lodgewood Mfg. They repaired two minor cracks inside the lock plate channel, it is ready for competition. The lock works perfectly with about a 5-lb trigger pull. The nipple is in great shape, the swivel ramrod works nicely, and there are no problems with the gun. It appears to have never been refinished, with a nice patina on the steel and brass. Lock is dated to 1849. All markings except the top barrel markings are easily legible. The bore is lightly pitted and rusted, with cleaning it should shoot well, or it could be relined. This would make a great shooter. Asking $799 with free shipping.
