    7 groove barrels

Did anyone besides Numrich make a musket barrel with 7 grooves?

I believe Numrich barrels were 8 groove barrels. Hoyt will make 7 groove barrels.

I have a 63 Artillery rifle that has a barrel with 7 grooves and a patent breech. It also has "RH" stamped on the left side of the breech. The person who sold me the rifle said it was a Hoyt barrel, but all the Hoyt barrels I've ever seen are marked RAH. Did Bob ever make patent breech barrels and/or mark his work "RH?" I'm getting ready to find this gun a new home and I don't want to mislead any new owner

    Hallo!

My late old pard Steve Jencso used to "make" multi-groove barrels. (He fitted an "muzzleloading" straight octagonal barrel to a Yeck breech section and tapered it to shape.)

IIRC, they were seven or six groove, and came from "Orion" and someone else. But that was in the 1990's.

    Getz barrel Beavertown, Pa

Getz made 7 groove barrels. I used their barrels on some of the rifles I made. Excellent barrels. The only problem they changed the bore from .577 to .580.

Don Getz passed away in November of 2014. The shop I believe is closed.

A company call Rice make 7 groove barrels.

OK, I just checked my barrels. Have four Bill Large, 2 Mississippi's, 1 '63 Springfield and 1 '53 Enfield, all are 8 groove. I have one '63 barrel marked SMJBH, which I was told was Jensco/Hoyt (dated 2/91), which is also 8 groove. I don't know if Getz and Rice made or make Civil War military barrels, do they ??

    Getz Barrel

No I just bought barrel rifled blanks. Which I turned on lathe to match the springfield barrels. I had some turned and breeched by Hoyt.
