Thread: Smith bullet size

  1. Smith bullet size

I have a smith and some rounds from dixie gun works that are .515. When I purchased the gun the previous owner said that he thought the bore is .510. My question is before I shoot the .515 round do they need to be resized to maybe .512 to make sure that there isn't to much pressure build up.

    Thanks in advance.

That should work fine as is. I had a .511 bore and shot a .516 bullet with no problems.

I size mine to .517 for a Hoyt reline- never had any problem.
