Defarbed Sergeants model Enfield. This rifle started life as a 3-digit serial number, euroarms p1858 Enfield. This rifle had been a safe queen for years and years, it is almost brand new and almost 40 years old!
It has been defarbed into a imported short Enfield sergeants model with brass fittings. It features a rear sling screwed into the wood of the stock, correct Birmingham barrel stamps, 1861/Tower on the lockplate, "T Turner" on the toe of the stock, various stamps on parts and inside the lock, riveted nose cap, rack number on the bayonet lug, the wood has been thinned down to period dimensions and the metal correctly blued or case hardened. This is representative of rifles meant for commercial market and deemed as 2nd quality firearms by the British system. Lots of these rifles were bought up for use during the war.
Expertly Defarbed to replicate one that College Hill arsenal had for sale at one point.
