OK, I got a big fish fryer for Dads day that i thought would make a good lead smelter. Got lots of old lubed bullets to melt down and recast, too stinky with the lube to do indoors.
So when I melt down the bullets and cast 1 pound ingots, they are frosted all the way thru, and kinda crumbly.
So my question is, too hot or too cold? I've cast frosted bullets, and i know that is from lead that is too hot, but never had this with ingots before.
oh, and no i don't have a lead thermometer (yet).
Thanks
