My gun has all matching parts.
But when I fire a cartridge the little lip at the top of it get severely damaged.
Is there any way to avoid that?

I don't have one but I'm fairly familiar with them.
Nylon or brass cartridges?
When you say damaged, what's happening specifically? Is it all the way around the cartridge, just one side, what? What bullet are you using?
A team mate is shooting a Burnside and uses the nylon tubes. He found they work better than the brass cases. He bought nylon ones years ago and for a while, he couldn't find them. Within the past few years Lodgewood has been selling them.
