    Sharps loading question

I have a model 59 Sharps Carbine and I am using the Rapine ring tail bullet with a 1.5" Hahn tube. Here is the question. When I insert the cartridge into the chamber and then start to close the breech block, the block rubs up against the cartridge tilting it at an angle. Do I need to lightly trim off some of the Hahn tube or is it okay to try and fire?

As long as the bullet itself is up against the rifling, you should be OK. The target will be the final answer though.

My other concern would be getting ignition. Since the round gets a slight upward angle, will the caps be able to set it off?

Try his 1 3/8" tube. That' what I use in my Perdersoli and the block just clears the tube.
