OK. Its, the Lyman 452664 Mold: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/313...rain-flat-nose

I'm using HARD lead. Think along the lines of modern bullets (for smokeless powder) since that is how the gun is rifled.

You can see the size of the lube groove.

I load it over 33 gr 3F, no filler.

My lube is MCM. I wipe the outside of the bullet head clean (remove lube) to make sure the case doesn't get all slippery.

Like I said, it shoots very accurately in my Henry (Navy Arms).

    Good luck!!

I tried the Lee 255 gr flat nose this weekend. Not horrible. I tried 2f as that's what I've done the most work with thus far. I'll try 3f as well.

    I wasn't overly impressed.

For kicks I also tried the Lee 200 gr SWC. It did passably well, better than the 255 gr job, but doesn't feed too well in the mag. The sharp shoulder makes it hang up a bit. Failing anything else, I'll use it for the 100 yard and stick with what I have at 50. What I run now will go 10/10 if I do my part on a bird board, it just doesn't make it to the 100 yard line without tumbling.

I'm getting there, one step at a time.

I use a 300 grn 45/70 bullet from Better Bullets in King of Prussia PA. it has one grease groove that i fill with spg. it shoots with 22.5 grns 3f goex with 3cc of corn meal and a felt wad. it is a little bit of work to load but it shoots great. I shoot it out to two hundred meters and can take down the steel ram without any issue. on the bench we are talking a ragged hole at 50 yards, and a three inch group at 100 yards. Marv
