Dixie Lorenz Jaeger main spring

The hammer on my Dixie Lorenz Jaeger blows back to half cock when I fire it. I'm guessing the main sprint is too weak. I suppose it could be the hole in the nipple is too big also. I'm using 42 gr of 3f with a Wilkinson bullet. Does anyone know of a source of springs. Dixie doesn't have much in replacement parts for it.

Your assumption that the hole in your nipple is too large is probably correct, particularly with a load of only 42 grains of FFFg, presumably GOEX. Try one of the AMPCO nipples.

If the new nipple doesn't work, use an original Austrian Muster 1854 rifle main spring. The original main and triger springs are interchangeable with the ones in the Dixie Jaeger, and are considerably better quality.
