I have an 1843 Ames pistol marked 1845 for sale. I was going to have Yancey Von Yeast restore it but my wife brought me to my senses ): It does need some work which reflects in the price. It needs to have the face of the hammer repaired or replaced ($24 @ rifle shoppe) , the nipple replaced and the lock mortise sured up. I put a replacement ram rod assembly put on. The bore is in shootable shape and all markings are clear. It's made by NP. Ames Springfield mass 1845, 54 cal smoothbore with a nice brown patina on the iron and a nice mustard on the brass.
im asking $375 obo or trade for a tuned uberti new army or 1860 colt army, but I'll look at anything.
if you want pictures, I will send them to your phone (easiest way) or I'll email them to you.
thanks
