I seem to recall some posts regarding the front band on a '42 Macon Conversion being fastened with a wood screw. Can't find them. Can anyone give me particulars regarding this? Am I correct that the hole for the pin on the front barrel band was used with the screw?

Thanks,

Duane

If one of the SAC members has not already responded to your query by PM, some months ago John Holland had sent me copies of the SAC spec sheets for the C.S. Macon Altered M-1842, which for the 30" bbl variant, the front band may be "held in place with a round head wood screw or band spring." But I would suggest you discuss the matter with the SAC in case there have been any subsequent updates.

Richard is correct in saying the 30" barrell can use either a round headed screw or barrell band.
The 34" barrelled Macon can use the round headed screw or band , while the 36" barrel macon uses barrell band only.
