Don't get me wrong, some CW era guns are well worth $13,000, but the Smith ain't one of 'em. Knock a zero off that price, and you're getting in the ball park. For 13k I want a museum quality piece (this isn't) unfired, in original arsenal packing, with Lincoln's own signature on the bill of sale and some gold wrapping paper.

One thing that I find interesting. There is a band between the receiver and the stock that is blued on all high end Smith's that I have seen. This one appears to be case colored. Not sure how that can be. Price appears to be about $10,000 too high.

And the top strap spring is as blue as it can be, looking almost new and the rest of the screws show use and marking along with stock that looks refinished yet the stamps look as they were done yesterday........

I have a mint Smith serial number 1xx and the barrel band is blued as Jim pointed out in his post. I bought mine about12 years ago and it was far more affordable than 13k.
