Scott,

I have had the best groups in my 30" Macon using 50 grains of 3f Eynsford.

I switched from plain ol' Goex 3F to Olde E in the smoothbore (Armisport '42), 55g. When I tested the Olde E out, I loaded them with the usual 55g but figured I might need to reduce the charge a bit to get the same point of impact. Didn't make a whit of difference impact-wise. Same load, same groups. However, the fouling is greatly reduced with OE compared to Goex. It's softer, and allows a LOT easier loading after multiple rounds fired. I'm sold on it, at least for the smoothbore. Never used Swiss, so I can't compare there. Olde E is a lot cheaper than Swiss, and only a couple bucks a pound more than Goex. I'll be buying more OE this fall!

Cheers
