This is a fine example of a rare classic early civil war era rifled musket as made by the springfield armory. Lock and barrel are dated 1860. Metal finishes are original with clear stampings. Stock cartouches have worn away. Bore is bright and shiny with sharp rifling. Maynard priming system is complete and functional. Lock work is precise with strong main spring.
