All the composite replicas I recall from the '50s, but for Navy Arms Remingtons, utilized black walnut stocks. No replica high-hump lockplates were available then, if memory serves. I'd reckon this piece to be at least twenty and problably more years newer and reenactor defarbed, used and abused.
