I would like opinions as to the fit, finish, reliability, accuracy, etc. of this carbine. Please only respond if you have had personal shooting experience with this carbine.

The person you need to contact is Hoot with the Third GA. He has done a lot of work with these. He does have several posts on this subject with good information on this forum. In fact I need to contact to him too. I also need a little extra green to implement his corrections. If AS has not changed them since I purchased mine they need a lot of work. The rear site was worthless and I replaced it with an original at an extra $125. The chamber is to large for the brass casing an I was getting blowback into the action and inconsistant shot placement. Overall the fit and finish on mine is fine but I can honestly say I have never had a good shooting experience wth it, though some were better than others. Previously fired unsized brass works best and with that I got my smallest shot groups but they were still inconsistant. It has been a long time since I pulled this rifle out of the cabnet as it is so frustrating as it comes off the shelf so I am forgetting some things.
If you want to shoot repeater with an out of the box model get a Henry in 44-40, every one on our repeater team swears by them. We do have one person shooting an original Spencer.
