Got a Lyman 575494 minie mold for a real good price. Didn't want a light weight .58 semi wad cutter mold but was willing to take a chance that maybe the base plugs would fit from the 575213 and the 577611. They do!
Any yall .58 shooters been trying out the different plugs to see what suited your barrels?
I think the 575494 front end design will be nice for the clean cuts on the targets.
My barrels will need paper patches to come up to my bigger bore diameter.

Here's what the 575494 with the 577611 plug looks like. Weighs right at 500 grains and the skirt measures .576".

Skirt looks way too thick for adequate expansion into the rifling. I can see this thing keyholing all over the place because it looks way too bottom-heavy(like my mother-in-law).
