LEE moulds make a .540 mississippi bullet mould or Moose moulds makes a .542 Wilkensen bullet mould which might work. Do not know any other .54 mould that large that you need out there. Rich

Mid south shooters supply has a Gardner style mould by Lyman in .54. Don't know exact size but it works in my .54 rifles.

I know we all believe that you need that skirt on a musket bullet, but there are some shooters using flat base bullets with great success. Moose Moulds makes the Dave France Sharps bullet that casts at .542 in pure lead. It shoots great in my Pedersoli Sharps and I plan to try it in my Mississippi, which has a .540 bore.

Bob,

I shoot a Moose .542 Wilkinson in my Euroarms Mississippi. I shoot it as cast and dip just the bottom with MCM lube, making sure it doesn't get in the compression groove. This bullet shoots great with both 38 and 40 grains of GOEX 3F.

Don,

My barrel is .540" and I use a .538" Wilkinson dipped with MCM in the groove. The key to success is giving it a firm tap when seating it.
