2390 am taking a shot in the dark here, I have what I think is an original 1861 barrel that has been relined by Bob Hoyt. Unfortunately, all the outside markings have been removed. Overall though, the barrel is in great shape.
I am building an 1861 and I would like to find a barrel that is in the original three lands and grooves and dated either 1863 or 1864 (prefer a 64 date if possible). I would be more than happy to trade straight out my barrel for what you got. I am looking at my project more in the collector realm than shooting, so this barrel would be going to waste. I am sure the barrel is a great shooter, It mic'ed out at .579, and is seven lands and grooves. The only problem I see is a small chip in the tang. At the very back is a chip of metal missing, but it does not affect the structural integrity if anything.
Obviously, I am looking for some one who has a spare barrel, not looking to destroy an original rifle. I have photos below of my barrel.
