I agree, this looks great. Ian is my teammate, I shoot a Pedersoli, he has an IAB. If we can get the compatibility question resolved, I'd be interested; I'm thinking the worst is, a different pitch screw might be needed for the european guns.

One possible solution would be for us to examine at nationals in the spring if you will be there?

Yes, I will be at the Spring Nationals and you most certainly can look at the sights. As for the screw you would re-use the screw from your firearm.

I'd like to see the sights at the nationals and make sure they'll fit a Farmingdale Sharps. What is the best way to contact you in order to meet? Thanks, Bill Knipscher

Yes, I will have the Sharps and Spencer sights at the nationals. The easiest way to contact me is my cell 847-650-1209 or stop by the 46th Illinois camp, area 3 all the way in the back 3 campsites from the last washroom. I will be at the Fort from Monday am till Sunday evening.

Just an update for those interested...

I bought the sight from Kevin at nationals; it is very well made. I got it on yesterday. Some pros and cons:

Pros: Very well made as I said; well finished; well thought-out design; easy to zero in, easy to drill by stacking the 100 yard sight on the 50 yard sight and drilling them both at once (to get the windage identical for both). Cheaper than Hahn's sight and (I think) better made.

Cons: It did NOT fit my Pedersoli as things sat; the wings that surround the rear of the sight on the gun were too tight and quite a bit of material had to be ground down from the sides of the sight to facilitate a good fit. I'd rather it was too tight than too loose of course, and was nothing a dremel and file couldn't take care of. Otherwise it screwed on and fit the barrel contour perfectly.

When you flip the sight up to 100 yards, part of the 50 yard sight binds on the rear portion of the hump of the rear sight wings as I previously mentioned. Not badly, but it required a little gentle filing to the gun to let clear.

The 100 yard sight ladder may only be slid down just so far, before it causes the 50 yard sight to start canting rearward as well (as opposed to straight up and down). In other words, when the 50 yard sight is up, the 100 yard adjustable leaf can only be slid down to within 3-4 mm of its base before the design of the sight binds against the sight spring. This is because the 100 yard ladder fits fully around the sight leaf, rather than riding up and down in the center as the original did. In practice, I don't think this will be an issue, but depending on your 100 yard zero, it might be for you.

All in all I still think it is money well spent and a very well made piece of machinery, but I think that there is some room to improve it for a version 2.0 model. I will post pictures of my concerns as outlined above for others to consider.

Am going to re-zero this weekend as well.
