All you history buffs. Did any early gun smiths convert the Rim fire Spencers to center fire like we do today? Ken (who is much too bored to come up with this)

Ken,
Now that you own a 1865 Spencer and will probably acquired another and another, and another.... if you do not already have a copy, you might also treat yourself to a copy of Roy M. Marcot's book Spencer Repeating Firearms (1990) which should provide some answers to many of the other questions you may have concerning your new purchase.

Spencer Book arrived...Wife won't let me have it...have to wait until Santa....she said I could play with gun, but book will have to wait....
and I have to vacuum floors forever....GREAT DEAL...I'D MAKE THAT DEAL ANYTIME...GOOD WIFEY....KEN
