Do we have any Civil War history weapon experts that know about the term "Sea Fensible" rifle or musket? I seen the term used on Civil War muskets for sale once in a while. Thanks Rick

Robert Rielly, Howard Madaus, and many others have included the Sea Fencible muskets in their writings. I would start there.

Also, using Google, you'll find some pretty good information from College Hill Arsenal and a few other sources. Don't rule out google books. https://www.collegehillarsenal.com/shop ... ductid=151 (https://www.collegehillarsenal.com/shop/product.php?productid=151)

I just bought the one College Hill had listed. According to UPS it will arrive today. There is quite a bit of information out there about these guns, most of it confusing. Tim Prince, the owner of College Hill, thinks a better name might Mass. Militia Musket, but I must admit Sea Fencible sounds much more exotic.

A quick scan of the internet reveals that the 'Sea Fencibles' was a coastal militia dating from the time of the Revolutionary War in the UK. Any arm used by these militia could be referred to as a Sea Fencible musket, pistol, pike, or whatever.
