At an auction I got a bunch of these size round balls still in sealed boxes. Are the .570's for patched .58 muskets? the .530's for patched .54 muskets? What would the .433 be for? Thanks for any reply

Correct on first two. I used .435 with .015 patches for my .45 and it worked great.

I am looking for some .570 balls to try in my Cadet smoothbore. How much per box?

Come and see me at Yecks in sutlers row next week. I will bring them all down and give you a great deal, WAY better than retail than I just saw at Cabelas!

Bruce - will you have all of them with you? I may be interested in the 530 and 433 as well.

The .433s were for some of the cheaper Japanese, Spanish, and maybe some Italian percussion .44 cal. guns that were produced in the 70s and early 80s. You can getr away with using them in today's .45 cal. flinters and cap guns as long as they are heavily patched. Otherwise, melt them and user them for something useful.

I believe that the .433 may have been for the old Numrich/ Hopkins and Allen underhammers which were called .45's but were
actually undersized and required a smaller diameter than most true .45's.

Lou Lou Lou:

if your Cadet is an original 1851 SB, then 570 balls are probably too big - I use 562
