I have a full length musket barrel that I believe is a C.S. Richmond barrel. I have shown it to fellow team members and they also think it's a C.S. Richmond. The barrel has rifling in the bore but it's more shallow than normal. I've been told this also indicates it's a C.S. Richmond because the Confederates used the rifling cutter long after it should have been changed out for a new one. I need some of the N-SSA experts out there to take a look at it and give me their opinion. Here are the max number of pictures I can post. The picture of the A inside the star is underneath the barrel at the breech.

It has a curios breech section for a Richmond, Looks like a 63/64 U.S. Springfield breech. I can't find any info on Richmond Arsenal making that breech. It would have to be a battlefield/capture use barrel, I would think. I am not anywhere near an expert on this, tho. I am sure others more knowledgeable than I will chime in.

I am fairly sure it is an 1861 Special Model made by Amoskeag.

I agree with John as to a U S special model.
