Do you mean the Battle of South Mountain? Rex Hoovey(sp.?) from Charlotte is the guy who worked with the sculptor and had the replicas for sale years ago. He is with the 13th NC reinactors group out of Charlotte. I don't find that I have any contact for him, maybe Google search him or the 13th NC reinactors/living history group.

It's been years since I've been to South Mountain. Is there a monument to the Alabama troops that fought at Turners Gap? My GGGreatdaddy fought there with the the 6th Alabama Inf.

Hi Gil. Last time I was there(2 yrs ago), the only monument that I saw was the NC one. It is well worth a side trip from the Fort to visit it. It is a good climb up the hill from the paved walkway, and amazes me how they transported it up there. Would like to know the documentation.
