dixie gun works lists two S.C. Robinson sharps by pedersoli for sale. one is $775 non-N-SSA approved, the other for $1100 is N-SSA approved, i called dixie and they didnt seem to be able to give me a straight answer as to what the difference between the two was, i was wondering my self because i have their non-approved model and wanted to know what difference it was that made it nearly $400 dollars more.

thanks

these are the links to both items

According to Dixes' 2008 catalog the differences are the front sight position (1/8" further from the muzzle), the barrel band and the approved one has a butt swivel. Apparently the pictures online are both of the approved gun since they both have butt swivels.

so ideally instead of buying another one, i could just have my corrected, because initially i bought mine just to have it, at the time i didnt care about nssa approved or not.

If you are going to shoot it in N-SSA competition you should contact someone on the small arms committee and find out what you would have to correct for the gun to be legal.

thanks for the help, ill have to look into that, mainly i just shoot my 2 band enfield, but i figured that i have this sharps and if its not too much of a hassle to correct it than i would do that.

Go to your region and post a request for who is on the Small arms committee in region. They can measure everything at the next skirmish you attend and tell you what needs to be done.
