Allen, I would be interested to. His .69 smoothbore barrel cannot be any small than .680. .69 has a +or - .010 spec. to meet. You probably meant .687. Rich

Danny's standard .69 caliber bore is 0.687 and though I have never shot my full length smoothbore Whitacre barrel, while my scores weren't particularly spectacular by any means, I shot a 46-1x at 25-yards and a 70-0x at 50 yards using a 24" C.S. Richmond (.69 cal) musketoon in individuals at the 126th National. And that's just using Alox coated balls, and was the very first time I had ever shot the musketoon! It has a little bit of a kick, but I was happy to see it group at 50 yards and a score of 70 isn't bad for a first time out.

My barrel was .6865 and while I usually lap my barresl mirror bright this one from Dan was pretty nice so I skipped that anal retentive part.Using a .682 ball, 50 grains 3f goes and my normal lube dipped three times tbis barrel will shot BETTER then you can hold it.
