eThese two Ballards will be inspected by the SAC on Thursday at the upcoming Spring Nationals. Cards have not yet been issued for either rifle. They are typical Ballard rifles that have seen much use in the past 150 years. These should be seen in person, so a potential buyer can see each rifle himself.
1) 3 band Ball & Williams chambered in 45 Long Colt, Serial #112XX, Butt stock is repaired original and original forearm extended from bottom band. The lower tang has been repaired. Original bore with some dark spots & light pitting. Centerfire conversion by Richard Schoenberger, a SAC approved conversion. Non-original, Rifle Shoppe Hammer and trigger, hardened and fitted and adjusted by Schoenberger. He also adjusted the headspace. Rich Cross rear sight & Gator Den high front sight. $1450.00
2) 3 band Ball & Williams chambered in 45 Long Colt, Serial #150XX. Butt stock is original and repaired. Forearm is full length original. The lower tang has been repaired. Original bore with some dark spots & light pitting. Centerfire conversion is an old "Spike on Hammer" (looks like a claw) done many years ago. This method of conversion is SAC approved. Rich Cross rear sight & Gator Den high front sight. $1375.00.
I plan on being at the 69th NYSV campsite in Area 5 by 5pm on Wednesday if all goes according to plan.
