Lead Sale follow up

We recently conpleted a group lead buy of about 50 people and I figured I would share what we learned for future purchases.

All the lead was sold before I placed the order, so I have no extra.

1 - the lead was purchased from Doe Run
2 - We paid about 64.5 cents a pound after expenses
3 - The lead comes bundles of about a 2100 pounds.
4 - The ingot size, called a "pig", range from 55 to 70 pounds.
5 - A fork lift is a wonderful thing and a rental cost us $310.

If I was to do this again I would make the minumum order a ton because I spent lots of time organizing and passing out lead.

If we did this today the price would be about 70 cents a pound

I hope you all realize the effort that Dave put into this. It is not small undertaking. Not many of you could have or would have done this for the troops. Thanks Dave.. Gary
