.009 Rifling in 54 cal. Mississippi

I just got back a EOA Mississippi barrel from Hoyt that he relined to .540, 1-60 twist, and .009 rifling. I had requested this for shooting round balls. Now it looks like I am getting back to skirmishing after a 20 year layoff, and I am wondering how this barrel will do with .540 Hodgdon Minor? Is the rifling too deep for Minutes?

I have Ray Goode barrels at .012 deep I had made too long ago, Thin the Skirt, hit it hard and they work just fine.

I managed to talk with Bobby Hoyt yesterday. Turns bout the rifling is .011". He said the same thing Charlie. Go a not higher on powder and use thin skirts. Should shoot fine. I will find out next trip to the range.
