View Full Version : unknown aluminum mould 454240-HB

Found this in the labyrinth. Looks Lyman but no marks exept as noted. Any body have any experience with it? I have toyed w the idea of makeing a short,I mean very short , fun musket to shoot. Thanks for looking, Jaeger.

The number you have their looks like a .45 Colt (long colt) .454 size, and 240 grns., which is heavy for that cartridge. Rebel Dave

Not really. The standard weight from Remington is 250 grains and Winchester-Western is 255 grains.

heck mine drops at 270 and should be 255. the colt can take it, it likes the weight.
