Are there any Reenactors here that has tried Goex Reenactor Powder? Looking for feed-back on ignition and fouling or suggestions as to leave it alone or not. Thanks

I picked up a few cans to shoot in my hand cannons.
For the most part it is about the same from what I can see about working.
But I have not tested it or used it for a gun I would shoot targets with.
But to save a few $ on a golf ball mortar or hand cannon, it will save you a few $.

The July issue of Muzzleloader has a brief review. It was only tested in a large caliber flint smoothbore, but they said it ignited well and gave approximately the same accuracy @25 yards as FFg Goex. They also said it was not any dirtier than red can Goex. The only complaint they had was that the large grain size made metering problematic

I tried it and didn't particually care for it. Large grains, seemed to foul the barrel quickly and did not give a lot of bang. I sticking with 2F or 3F Goex.

My theory is that the "Re-enactor powder" is lots of regular GOEX that didn't turn out so well. BAsically GOEX is telling everyone that "Re-enactor Powder" is not suitable for live fire and only good as a "noise maker."
