hello
I bought a 44 cal Allen carbine and I know it shoots a 44 rimfire but
was wondering if it is the same as a Henry rim fire?
Can this shoot a centerfire?
Regards
Pat

They seem to range from 42 to 44. I saw 2 that were converted to centerfire from The Horse Soldier Shop year ago.

Pat,

Your question is generic in content which is just fine, but for the general information for those competitors who are reading this thread, it may be appropriate at this time to note that the Allen Dropping Block Carbine is not recognized for use in any of the N-SSA's competitive matches. Over the past few years there have been several attempts to document its use in the Civil War, all of which were unsuccessful.

With that having been said, please continue with this interesting thread!
