This is the same stuff that they use to make or repair stain glass windows. I came into a good quanity of it and and just decided to do some test rounds (which I have not shot yet) but I am not sure if it will work well either. Anyone else here ever use any of this type lead /alloy and what is its real hardness? When I made the test rounds and I notice that the bullets cooled extremely quick.

Just looking for some info

Thanks
Steve

Steve, Give me half of it and i will shoot it this year and let you know how it works. Used it back in the 80's when they were restoring windows in Richmond until my source went dry paid .20 lb for it. Works great. Rich

If it's newer lead came it probably isn't pure. If it's old it could possibly be pure. Most shops don't use pure anymore simply for strength's sake. We use 93% lead-7% antimony almost all the time. Good for carbine or smoothbore.

Came scraps can be hard or soft. You really need a lead tester to make sure what you have is soft. I like this one: http://lbtmoulds.com/hardtester.shtml

If what you got was bright silver, or had solder joints, I'd be suspecious.
