Up for sale is an original Colt Contract Musket, 1862. It is all original including the original ram rod. I have shot this musket, it is sighted in for 50 & 100 yards and shoots great. It has a Hoyt liner in the barrel and it mikes out at about .577 to .578. The bore is bright and shinny with strong rifeling. I don’t remember what the twist is but it shoots good with a Hodgen semi-wadcutter bullet. The rear sight has an L insert with a peep sight and I also have the original sight leafs that came with the gun. This would make a great skirmish gun. I just don’t shoot it any more and I hate for it to become a safe queen when I know that there is someone out there that could use it. $1500. + shipping I can send more pictures if you send me an e-mail.
