Is there an acceptable long range rear sight for the Euroarms 1841 mississippi?

Go to S&S firearms they have the Benton long range sight

You will most likley have to change the configuration of your Miss rifle, if it is the original pattern. The type of sights that are on a stock arm, do not lend them selves to modification without other modifications. With that said it is not n undertaking that is hard to do.

See if you can get a set of Miss rifle specs, having all the later mods dome to them. Some one on the forum can furnish you with a set.

Well It looks like I am going with the benton screw sight which would be type 1. Does anyone have the specs for the cuts in the barrel near the muzzle??

The Mississippi Rifle has to qualify as one of the "modified" of all American military rifles. Here is a monograph that gives the various mods:
